HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE! For those who always wanted to learn more about the ice rink, now is your chance. It's "Friday Fun Fact". Today's subject is Ice Rink; The Rink is a Scottish word, means course. First mechanically frozen rink was in a tent in January 1876. It takes 11 laps around a standard ice rink to skate a mile. The largest naturally frozen ice rink is in Ottawa. First ice skates were made from shank or rib bones of elk, oxen, reindeer, and other animals. Ice skating developed in Scandinavia as early as 1000 BCE Metal blades were likely introduced by the Dutch. #icerink #iceskating #icehockey
