Today's subject is your Assistant General Manager, Jon Larson. Born and raised in southern Minnesota, Jon began skating at the age of 4. His love and passion for hockey played a significant part in his life and career.

His rink career began in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he managed two ice rinks – Tulsa Ice Arena and the Oiler’s Ice Center. While there, Jon was the co-founder of the Tulsa Youth Hockey Association and started fine tuning his craft as a power skating professional. Jon also served as State Coordinator for U.S.A. in the Coaches Education Program.

After 18 years living in Tulsa, Jon's dream came true when he was hired and opened the Greeley Ice Haus in Greeley Colorado where he led the rink staff for 5 wonderful years. While in Greeley, Jon was the founder of the Greeley Youth Hockey Association.

He was then given an opportunity to move up to the beautiful town Aspen, Colorado where he managed two rinks, the Lewis Ice Arena and Aspen Ice Garden for 7 years.

After becoming empty nesters, Jon was hired as the Executive Director for a multi-purpose sports facility located in Southern Vermont for 6 years - Northshire Civic Center.

Jon and his wife ultimately chose to move back to Colorado to live closer to their children and become new grand-parents. Jon's love for hockey was never far from his mind. Jon found himself back in the saddle one last time as he was hired to help manage the River City Sportplex.

Jon enjoys spending his free time with his wife Lisa and their 2 Border Collies – Leo and Bailey. Hobbies include hiking, biking, camping, skiing and all other outdoor activities. He is happy to call the Western Slope his home.
