Learn to Play is our bridge program between Learn to Skate and River Hawks Youth Hockey. This program is designed to teach the fundamentals of proper skating and stick handling.

Mile High Mites: Ages 5-9

The Mile High Mites are a partnership between the Colorado Avalanche and River City Sportplex, designed to help youth players get properly introduced to the game of hockey, and maximize the number of hockey players in Colorado.

All participants must complete our Learn to Skate program and/or Mile High Mites before joining Lil' Hawks Learn to Play. This ensures each child has a strong foundation on the ice to safely and successfully begin learning hockey.
